# Introduction

> NextGen is a free security bot for Discord, with a dashboard for every module.

NextGen protects a Discord server with scam detection in images (NG-3), its own rule engine (AutoMod), numbered cases with the original message, and editable messages for welcomes and notices. The essential protection, including child safety, is free, and every module is set up from the dashboard at [panel.nextgenbot.dev](https://panel.nextgenbot.dev/login).

> [!NOTE]
>
> Commands use the prefix `n.` by default, which you change with `setprefix`. The everyday ones also work with `/`.

## What it includes

| Module | What it does |
| - | - |
| Scam detector (NG-3) | Analyzes the images posted and removes the ones that are scams, with adjustable sensitivity. |
| AutoMod | Rules for invites to other servers, links, spam and malicious messages, with actions to delete, mute and alert. |
| Cases | A numbered record of every action the bot takes, with the text of the message, which can be hidden or deleted. |
| Messages | Welcome, welcome by direct message, goodbye and AutoMod notice, as text, with a design or in blocks, with a preview. |
| Child safety | A separate alert, with its own channel, when the invite to an adult server is shared. |

## Add NextGen

> **[Add NextGen](https://nextgenbot.dev/invite)**
>
> Requires the **Manage Server** permission on the server where you add it.

When you add it, the scam detector and the AutoMod rules are off. You turn them on from the dashboard whenever you want.

> [!NOTE]
>
> For the bot to be able to mute, its role must be above the mute role and above the members it acts on, in **Server Settings → Roles**.

## The dashboard

> [!WARNING]
>
> The server owner decides who can access the dashboard. By default, only the owner has access, and the Administrator permission doesn't change that.

From the dashboard you turn on the scam detector, set up the AutoMod rules and the mute role, review cases and edit the bot's messages. It is at [panel.nextgenbot.dev](https://panel.nextgenbot.dev/login) and you sign in with Discord, which only asks for your identity and the list of your servers.
